Know someone who's died?

If someone you know has died from meningitis or meningococcal septicaemia it can be a distressing and painful time.  The speed of the disease can be very frightening and can leave you feeling shocked and stunned.

When someone dies, you may go through lots of different emotions, disbelief, confusion, anger or guilt.  All these feelings are quite normal when you are grieving.  Remember, there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to feel.

Family and friends around you will want to help and they may be grieving too.  Talk about the person who has died, share memories, laugh and cry together.  Maybe there is something special you can do to remember that person?

You can download our Meningitis bereavement information leaflet here or go to our Tribute fund page to find out how some people are remembering their friends and family.

We understand what it's like to be affected by meningitis. If you need more information or you have any questions, please call our 24 hour helpline.
