Key Stage 3 & 4

Meningitis can be a deadly disease and young people are particularly at risk. This site is designed to support discussion and debate about individual roles during a case or an outbreak of meningitis. It also includes a look at how TV soap operas - Hollyoaks in particular - handle such themes.

You can download a number of imaginative role-play scenarios set in a community under threat from meningitis. Students may use the activity sheet to identify issues and discuss actions with each other.
